My lineage

My name is Ariela Sharon Yomtovian. My father is Persian Jewish and my mother, who is no longer earthside, was Ashkenazi Jewish (her lineage goes back to Lithuania and Ukraine). My parents met in Minnesota and raised 4 very independent daughters. I am very much a product of the trauma and joys experienced by my ancestors and continue to work on untangling the burdens that were passed down while relishing in the abundance of embodied knowledge and spiritual richness.

My education

My biggest teachers are my elders and mentors. A big thank you to Lael Stimming of Trinity Midwifery for helping me connect my dots and embark on my life’s work: raising up the feminine. The road was windy, but each and every step was incredibly informative. I studied food and wine at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy. This experience taught me the value of food, culture and the wisdom of ancient cultures. Upon returning to the States, I studied herbalism at ArborVitae and Manzanita Wellness. I become a certified Kallah teacher with The Eden Center and spent a year learning Jewish texts at Hadar Institute. I am a certified doula through Robin Elise Weiss’ DONA certified class and am currently completing a Childbirth Education Certification through Birthing from Within. I have completed a number of workshops on parenting with Miriam Liebowtiz, artists and educator and am constantly learning and doing professional development in the sphere of education with Moishe House’s Jewish Learning Collaborative. Through unlearning and relearning, unwinding and rewinding, I have found a call to work in the world of sovereign birth (ie women birthing in complete and total authenticity and freedom). My studies with free birth society and completing their signature program: Radical Birth Keeper Training has led me to a place of deep trust and faith in the Divine and in Women and their power to give birth and change the world.

My avodah (work) in this world

I am a Spiritual Childbirth Educator. I help women reclaim the spiritually transformative power of birth without surrendering to a toxic birth culture that feeds on fear, shame, and guilt. I specialize in working with women and birth workers who want to revive the sacredness of the birth journey without complying with Big Birth’s hyper medicalized protocols. Instead, I show you how to use your Divine voice to engage with the mass-marketed blueprint of birth. I do that by synthesizing ancient and modern Jewish texts about birth with the creative process that is grounded in the client’s lineage and personal journey to the self. That way you don’t hold onto a standardized one-size-fits-all birth lifeboat, and you reclaim your faith in your body, your voice, and your birth journey. This is our work together in manifesting a culture of EPIC BIRTHING.

At the end of the day, the most important feedback for me is whether or not in your birth you felt connected to the Divine.

So what is spiritual birthwork?

It rests on these pillars.

  1. Birth is SACRED - the experience of birth links past, present and future taking us on a journey into the realm of the spiritual

  2. Birth is PERSONAL - there is no one birth blueprint

  3. Birth is UNPREDICTABLE - nobody and no machine has the answers

  4. Birth is a JOURNEY- without this journey, we miss out on the transformative potential of the experience

  5. Birth is ANCESTRAL - it’s been happening since the beginning of time and carries with it deep embodied wisdom

How can we embrace spiritual transformation?

Through engaging with other spiritual birth seekers who are engaged in the work of

REMEMBERING, RECLAIMING AND REIMAGINING

A SACRED BIRTH CULTURE.

And here is some birth music to get you in the mood…
